Instead of using a boring history cover, Kevin O’Malley creatively attracts students with the illustration of creepy Dr. Skeleton on the front cover. In addition, Georgia Bragg’s writing style exposes young readers to new vocabulary in the book, including synonyms for the word death like “croaked”and “kicked- the- bucket”.
